Sebastopol

There are few opportunites for non-mountaineers to experience standing on a summit in the Mt Cook National park, but a day hike to the summit of Sebastopol is one of them. By continuing on past the popular walk to the Red Tarns, Sebastopol can be bagged on a 5 hour return trip from Mt Cook Village. There are also a couple of guiding companies that will escort you to the summit if you wish.

More details on this walk can be seen at the SummitPost Sebastopol page
