Fox, Mt

This is a really worthwhile walk with amazing views over Fox Glacier and out to the coast. However, it is increadibly steep and does require a really early start and a pocket of fine West Coast weather to ensure that you get to see the awesome views!

Sights Views, Birds, Bush, Forest , Awesome views of Fox Glacier, its neve and the Southern Alps in one direction, views out to the coast in the other. Fantastic!

Drive approx 3km south from Fox Glacier to Thirsty Culvert where there is a small layby that you can park in.

Our Recommended Route

Straight up the hill from SH6. It’s a bit of a gut buster, but well worth the effort if you get there before the clouds come in. Some amazing views.
