Title: Mt. William
Post by: PeakRunner on April 26, 2011, 02:36:42 AM
Good friday, getting out of auckland for easter. At the same time as everyone else, it took 1hr15 to drive to the SH2 turnoff from the city. So I was happy to get out of the car for a walk.

Up 35 min, down 20 min
Overcast, only some views over the Bombays and Waikato
Track in good condition, little mud.
Some friendly stock in the upper paddock, and thousands of crickets at the summit.

Bloody crickets are a plague at the moment! Funny on Mt Ngauruhoe last time we were up there the summit rock on the sheltered side was carpeted in lady bugs! Very pretty!
