Title: Stoked

We'd had some very fickle weather lately, but at last all the forecasts were picking primo for tomorrow. The crux of the climb was actually the drive there - a full hour of relentless wiggly road that just seemed to go on forever. We ended up camping at the DOC Kanepuru Head with it's resident weka (don't leave your car door open!).
We woke up the next morning to cloud. By the time we drove up to the start it was drizzling and a much cooler 11 degrees. After the long drive here, I wasn't going to let this one go. The walk up the track was easy going and through bush on well marked track all the way. It wasn't until the very final section that we reached the bushline with the now very cold and driving wind. Jackets on and a quick dash to the trig summit. The much anticipated views were not ours today however.
A return trip time of 3.5 hours
