Title: Wild Kiwi Trail Run
Post by: andrewcavill on November 25, 2019, 03:54:24 PM
I did this one as part of the Wild Kiwi Trail Run, a great event that includes multi-sport options, but I stuck with the running-only event that was challenging in it's own right. We started at Urquharts Bay and ran around the headland before climbing what felt like a million steps to Mt Lion. After running along the ridge for a while we climbed again, this time up to the highest point. Then we had a sharp descent to Ocean Beach, trying to watch our footing and take in the breathtaking views out over the water. We started returning via Ocean Beach Road, but them climbed again up the Peach Cove track and returned via Mt Lion and this time we got to go down all those steps. A fantastic part of the country - not to be missed.
