Dome Summit Report and pictures

Did this quick trip in a rush just ahead of an incoming front. Starting from the icon Dome summit tea rooms this is mostly a well formed track which climbs with stairs up to a lookout.  The track then gets more like a tramping track for the last 20 odd minutes to the summit

The area has seen a HUGE amount of rain lately and the only complexity to this climb was very slippery and muddy conditions. I would imagine in summer this would be a very simple bag. People into their plant life will appreciate the many signs next to trees giving descriptions on the way.  To me a tree is a tree though unless its a huge kauri!!

All up this was only a 1 hour 15 hike return to the trig, enough to get the blood pumping, it is moderately steep in places and certainly a good leg loosener.
