Mt Robert-Bushline Circuit

Date: 19/04/09
Track Conditions: dry, overcast alternating with clear skies
Start Point: Car park at foot of Pinchgut track
Time Taken: 5 hours with stops for lunch and photos

Ali and I had a very enjoyable walk around the circuit: up pinchgut, across the top to bushline, then down paddy's track. The weather was perfect for tramping in that it was not too hot due to the intermittent cloud/mist cover. We stopped for lunch and a read of the hut book at Bushline hut.

On the way down from bushline we had the good fortune to come across a native falcon. It swooped past us and landed on a track marker post. We were able to get within three metres of it, and take lots of photos, before it glided off. Further down the track by the lake there were many bell birds feeding and singing up a storm. A great day all in all.
