Mt Climie

Another great day in upper hutt. Took the whole family again , including my four year old son.  This is a long relentless slog, with precious few level sections to offer any relief.  The track was well shaded on the trip up, which was just as well, as it was a pretty hot day. Not a lot to see until you reach the top.  The track is quite steep in places, which proved a quite difficult coming down (I have to be careful with my shonky ankles).  Spectacular views from the top.  Could see from Mt Hector and Rimutaka Trig in the north, through the Hutt Valley, down to Wellington and the South Island.  On the other side all of South Wairarapa.  The wind was howling across the top so we had to be careful not to loose the kids over the side.  Great day. 2:26 up and 1:44 down.
