This was the second of two peaks bagged on April 17th 2010. Fairly easy from  Paradise Valley road, with the track being dry and well formed.   Nice views over Rotorua from the lookout part way up, but no views from the top.  It took us about 2 1/2 hours return with a 4 year old setting the pace.

We bagged this peak on the 17th of April on a fine dry day. The track was easy and not at all challenging. The views from the top were quite spectacular. The trip was about 2 hours return with a 4 year old.

About 7 minutes from the carpark to the lake lookout.

It could be quite easy to miss the carpark because it looked like a gravel storage area for road works more than a carpark. Attached is a photo of the carpark heading south from Rotorua

We bagged this peak via the Wairake track on a fine day with our 4 year old setting the pace. Track was a fairly easy walk with some boggy mud patches.

There were two wooden ladders to reach the summit and that was the hardest part for our 4 year old with a little lift up on and off required. The summit had great views of Raglan, Kawhia and the Waikato.

With several stops on the way up it took 2 hours and 20 minutes to reach the summit and 1 hour 40 down.

Moderate to easy with a few narrow bits of track. Our kids aged 4 to 13 coped well (but they are used to tramping).
